![]() ![]() Throughout most of Eterium's development I used an Xbox 360 controller to test because it was smaller than a joystick and easier to set aside when I was coding. Joysticks (and controllers with analog sticks) handle a lot more as you would expect. The cursor to move the ship is a mouse only thing. On the Xbox 360 controller we use almost every button three times (with variations, such as holding down multiple buttons, long press, double taps, etc) You will probably need to use a keyboard and controller combination for any other controller that doesn't have a lot of buttons (like a joystick). Eterium is designed to not require the keyboard when using an Xbox 360 controller because we wrote custom code to support it. ![]() In multiplayer mode, 1-4 players play in teams where the focus is on high-speed strategy. ![]() I highly recommend using an Xbox 360 controller to play Eterium (if you don't want to play with a joystick). The multiplayer matches in Etherium are frenetic, intense and fun. To answer your question about controllers.
